The Frog Pond

Long, long ago, but not too long ago there was a big pond where loads of frogs lived. Every day the baby frogs went and played with their friends and the adult frogs went to go and catch flies and other insects for their family, or they went to work.

One day the pond and the surrounding houses were attacked by a fox. While this was happening Dave, a baby frog was playing with some sticks with his friends. When he saw the big orange fox attacking some frog homes, he immediately went off to go and tell his father. His dad said that Dave must go and ask The Wise One for help. As soon as Dave had gone his father told the frog army.

While the fox was attacking some frogs the frog army arrived. They had bazookas that shot seeds. They fired their bazookas at the ferocious fox. The seeds did nothing to him; they only made him angrier.

By then Dave had arrived at The Wise One’s home. The Wise One was a tortoise. Dave told him what had happened and the tortoise said that he would come and sort the fox out.

The tortoise arrived quite a while later (because tortoises are slow) and he found the fox attacking some homes while the frog army were desperately trying to fend the fox off. The tortoise shouted at the fox in his old, croaky voice and ran (which was like a walk) and hit the fox with his paw. The fox was badly hurt. He said that he would never attack the village again and he ran off.

The fox kept his promise and the frogs at Frog Pond were never harmed again.
